Mercedes withdraw appeal over Nico Rosberg’s penalization

Mercedes have admitted that their driver, Nico Rosberg was judged right by the stewards’ interpretation of the race regulation and their decision. Rosberg was penalized 10 seconds after a radio conversation with his engineer during the British Grand Prix at Silverstone which was considered illegal.

The conversation goes thus:

Engineer:       Driver default 1-0-1, chassis default 0-1, chassis default 0-1. Avoid seventh gear, Nico avoid                          seventh gear.

Rosberg:          What does that mean? I have to shift through it?

Engineer:         Affirm Nico, you need to shift through it. Affirm, you need to shift through it.

Rosberg finished second on road but he was demoted to third place which now bring him to just one point ahead of his team mate Lewis Hamilton in the title campaign.

Ferrari chose to keep Kimi Raikkonen for 2017 F1 Season

The signing of Raikkonen by Ferrari for the 2017 Formula one season has generated a lot of questions as to why the Italian team chose to retain Kimi who seems not to be much bothered with the heat in the sport. As many believed that the best racing days of the formal formula one world champion are long gone and think that Ferrari should have considered the future and opt for a new driver for the 2017 formula one season, Kimi still believed much in himself in a statement he made on the subject of his new contract “I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t think I can drive well”.

Kimi’s fans thinks he is a great driver and still considers him as the fastest driver in the formula one race if he is provided with a car that match his preference. Is this true? Can the present Raikkonen be truly compared with the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel, Max Verstappen and Jenson Buttons? That’s really going to generate a fierce argument.

Ferrari considered signing of Raikkonen for the 2017 Formula One season as the best option to go with as most of the drivers that catch their attention are still under contract with their present team, Sebastian Vettel also commented that Kimi staying at Ferrari for the 2017 formula one season will be great because they both get along easily and there is no team politics.

“I don’t believe in luck or any of that crap” Daniel Ricciardo

After finishing fourth in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, Ricciardo said things have not really worked out in his favor but still he doesn’t believe in luck or any of that crap. Ricciardo lost all shot of appearing on the podium at the early part of the race when he was cast adrift by the virtual safety car. He lost about ten seconds to Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez when they pit under the virtual safety car. Though he was able to later pass Perez to finish fourth but he missed out on the podium party. Ricciardo saw the race to be boring saying he spent almost all the race on his own, he is hopeful that he will have a better race at Budapest.
